Vestry Elections

The Annual Meeting is also a time to elect new Vestry members. We have been blessed by the leadership and faith of John Maclin and Linda Wynne who are rotating off and we have three people who have expressed some interest in running for Vestry which is wonderful. If you would like to consider this kind of leadership role in the church, please let the Rector or Senior Warden know.

Many people, especially from other Christian traditions, will not be familiar with the word Vestry. Vestry members are elected lay leaders who prayerfully discern and help shape the congregation’s vision, spiritual life, and stewardship. They provide governance and fiduciary oversight, support clergy, and ensure the parish’s resources and ministries faithfully serve God’s mission in the community. Ideally they are people whom to look at is to know what responsible Christian leaders are, and it is our belief that any baptized member of the parish can rise to that ideal and help every one of us grow and walk in the love of Christ.
